Margaret McDuffie Plays Jazz Old & New at The Jay Heritage Center

We’re very excited to be performing on March 1st at the Jay Heritage Center in Rye, NY. This historic site hosts numerous events centered on history, education and nature, for both adults and children. Originally the residence of John Jay, the property has been beautifully restored over many years, and while the work continues, The Jay Center provides an amazing variety of talks, walks and music to the area at large. With a view on the sound, it is an uplifting place to spend a few hours and connect with both the history and people you encounter there.

Jazz old and new is the theme for the evening of March 1st. Margaret will begin with a collection of jazz standards from the American songbook and ballads of her own in the classic standard style. In the second set, the group unfolds a sample spectrum exploring her original contemporary music, with influences from jazzy blues to country swing. Margaret’s skillful and hypnotic singing is supported by the wonderful talents of Steve Raleigh on guitar, T. Xiques on drums, Michael Goetz on bass, and Grammy winner Art Labriola on keys.

Jams at Jay are fundraising events open to the public. Visit the link here for more information and to see future music on their calendar. We hope you will join us in supporting them and experiencing a little of what they do. And as it says, come take the chill off!
